Marilyn Monroe was born on June 1st 1926 in Los Angeles as Norma Jeane Mortensen. Her mother was Gladys Mortensen, her father was unknown and was never figured out throughout her life. Norma Jeane was sent to foster parent until she got seven. Shortly after her birthday her mother picked her up to live with her and her best friend Grace McKee in Hollywood. They often went to the Movies and enjoyed their lives, but Gladys suffered from depressions and was soon sent to a psychiatric hospital. The following years Norma Jean grew up with Grace, a foster family, in an orphans home and for a while with relatives of Grace. Although Grace became Norma Jeans legal guardian, she couldn't stay there very long. Grace's husband had tried to force himself on her. At the age of 12, Norma Jeane was brought to Grace's aunt Ana Lower. Ana and Norma Jeane became good friends and loved each other deeply.
