In late 1961 her psychiatrist Greenson convinced Marilyn to hire Eunice Murray as a housekeeper. This Christmas Marilyn spent with Joe DiMaggio, with whom she also dated regularly again in the following year. In the beginning of the new year Marilyn had an affair with John F. Kennedy, later also with his brother Robert. In April production for her new movie "Something's Got To Give" began, but she left the set of "Something's Got To Give" to sing at president Kennedy's Birthday Gala in New York, which caused her a lot of trouble with the executives of 20th Century Fox. June 2nd, her 36th birthday, was the last day she ever acted for a film. After spending the evening on her own, she took an overdose of sleeping-pills. One week later she was fired, but it didn't really make her sad, instead she was taking control of her life and seemed very optimistic. She made a lot of plans for the future: she planned a film about her favourite actress Jean Harlow, she was rehired by 20th Century Fox for "Something's Got To Give" and she and Joe decided to remarry on August 8th.
